• Database Management:
  Administer, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases for our web applications.
  Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.
  Perform database tuning and performance analysis.
• Data Security and Integrity:
  Implement and manage database security measures to safeguard sensitive data.
  Ensure data integrity and security across PostgreSQL and MongoDB platforms.
  Conduct regular audits to ensure data compliance and security standards are met.
• Backup and Recovery:
  Develop, implement, and manage backup and recovery plans.
  Perform regular backups and restore tests to ensure data can be recovered in case of failure.
• Troubleshooting and Support:
  Diagnose and troubleshoot database issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  Provide support for database-related issues and work closely with development teams to optimize queries and data access.
• Database Design and Development:
  Collaborate with developers to design and implement database schemas, indexes, and queries.
  Assist in the design and implementation of database solutions to support new and existing web applications.
• Automation and Scripting:
  Develop and maintain scripts for database management tasks, including backups, restores, and monitoring, using JavaScript frameworks such as Node.js, Express.js, and NestJs.
  Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and reduce the risk of human error.
• Documentation:
  Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures.
  Create and update technical documentation, including database design and data flow diagrams.
  Experience:
  Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Database Administrator with a focus on PostgreSQL and MongoDB.

• Proficiency in PostgreSQL database administration, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
• Strong knowledge of MongoDB, including sharding, replication, and backup/restore procedures.
• Experience with database security, backup, and recovery processes.
• Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL query languages.
• Familiarity with database monitoring and management tools.
• Experience with cloud-based database services and environments, particularly AWS.
• Knowledge of Kafa MSK (Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka) and its integration with PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Proficiency in JavaScript frameworks such as Node.js, Express.js, and NestJs for scripting and automation.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to managing databases.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Preferred Qualifications:

  Knowledge of additional database technologies and tools.

  Certification in PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB is a plus.
